As part of our philanthropic activities, 7IM supports the work of the British Forces Foundation. 2016’s money is going to entertain more than 5,000 members of Armed Forces’ families – a welcome distraction for many given they have family members away for months on active duty.
As part of our philanthropic activities, Seven Investment Management (7IM) supports the work of the British Forces Foundation, a charitable organisation that aims to boost and maintain the morale of the men and women of our Armed Forces by providing high quality entertainment.
This year, part of 7IM’s support is being used to enable the annual Christmas Pantomime Roadshow. This year it is visiting 45 armed forces bases across the three services over the festive season, with more shows planned for February. In total, more than 5,000 members of Armed Forces’ families will enjoy free festive fun – a welcome distraction for many given they have family members away for months on active duty.
Speaking to the work being done, Mark Cann, Director of the British Forces Foundation, commented: “7IM’s support has been very helpful at a time when we are really trying to expand our activities and operations. This year sees a much bigger programme to last year: more bases; more families; and a lot more shows. 2016 marks the first time we’ve been to Northern Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands. While we’re still working on the February 2017 half term plan, we also hope to beat 2016’s benchmark of 15 shows at 13 venues using two tours out on the road.”
Using a professional theatre company called The Panto Bus, three tours with three buses and three actor troupes are on the road throughout December 2016 putting on productions of Cinderella, Aladdin and Dick Whittington. The productions are put on in a range of venues from gym halls, service men ‘messes’, aircraft hangers, military schools, community centres, as well as a variety of other venues.
