The value of your investments and the income from them may go down as well as up, and you could get back less than you invested.

Introduction

There are two ways in which you can access your 7IM account online. Using our client portal via our website, 7im.co.uk or via our 7IMagine app. If you would like to know more about using our app, please watch this video on our website and download the app from your usual app store. In this video, we’re going to look at how to access and use our client portal.

Registering

You should have received a welcome letter confirming that you now have a 7IM account open. The first step is to register for access. This registration process is the same for both our client portal and the 7IMagine app.

On the login page, click on the Register link.

You will then have two options, depending on whether you are registering to view your own 7IM account or that of another entity, such as a trust or limited company.

If you are registering to access your own account, you will then need to input your last name, your date of birth, your national insurance number, and your email address. Please note that as your email address will become your username, it needs to be unique to you and, therefore, cannot also be used for another user. Then, tick the box and click Submit.

To increase the security of access to your 7IM account, we operate two-factor authentication. This means we first need to verify your email address and then your mobile number.

We will, therefore, send a six-digit code to your email address, which you need to enter here.

Next, you should enter your mobile phone number, and we will send a code to that as well. We recommend including your mobile in the verification process, as this further increases the security of your 7IM account. However, if you don’t have a mobile phone, then you can skip this step.

Once you have received this code, enter it here.

Finally, you will need to create your own password. This should be a minimum of ten characters and include a number, an upper and lower case letter, and a special character.

You have now completed the registration process.

Next time you log in, you will be asked to enter your username, which will be your email address, your password, and the security code that we send to either your email or mobile phone.

Using the client portal

My Overview / My Group

The first page you will see is your My Overview page. This will show you the current value of the various 7IM accounts that you have, along with a total value.

If you are linked to other family members, then you will first see every person listed in your Group and will be able to click on each person to view their accounts.

On this page, you can click on the Value box to view a quick summary of the movements in and out of your accounts as well as the total cumulative investment gain or loss.

Valuation History

The Valuation History page shows you the value of your 7IM accounts over time. This defaults to three months, but you can select a different time period by using the menu at the top. You can also select a specific account to see the valuation history for that particular account.

Asset Allocation

The Asset Allocation page shows you a current snapshot of how your money is spread across different asset classes. You can also see this for specific accounts.

My Investments

The My Investments page shows all your individual investment holdings, and you can use the arrows on the left to expand and collapse each account or sub-account.

Capital Gains Tax

Your financial adviser will be helping you to manage your Capital Gains Tax position. This page will display your current unrealised gains or losses and a breakdown of the gains or losses you have realised during a particular tax year. This information can be downloaded into a PDF file or a spreadsheet.

Transactions

Selecting a particular account in any of the previous screens will also display the Transactions tab.

Here, you can see all the transactions that have happened in any of your accounts or sub accounts, and you can use the drop-down filter to further search for specific types of transactions.

You can download your transactions into a PDF file by clicking on the Generate Transactions Report button.

You can also download the contract notes for any buy or sell trades from this page.

Transcript (Part 2)

Reports

At the top of the screen is a section called Reports, where you can download transactions over a particular time frame or holdings on a particular date for any of the accounts you select.

You can also download a Capital Gains Tax report from here.

My Documents

My Documents is where you will find your latest, and historic, valuation statements. These are generated on a quarterly basis, and you will receive an email from us each quarter to let you know when the latest one is available to download.

My Details

You can also change your password or memorable date or phrase here.
